Barton Arcade in Deansgate, Manchester was built in 1871, and is a beautiful Victorian structure of iron and glass. There are two entrances from Deansgate and another accessible from St Ann's Square. The building inside is light and airy, spanning across three tiers of balconies with ornamental balustrades curving around the U-shaped interior. The Arcade was extensively restored in the 1980s and now houses exclusive shops and boutiques as well as office suites.
More recently the interior of the Arcade has been given a loving makeover, enhancing the typically Victorian ornamental structures, fascias and balconies with a
sumptuous new black and gold colour scheme. Barton Arcade has fast become an exclusive hub for Media, PR and Creative businesses due to its quirky, non-corporate feel.
